Among this year’s finalists are: Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class Loft, which provides a space for passengers to socialize; Schott’s touch- controlled reading light, which allows passengers to adjust the position and brightness; and a cafe-inspired concept from the University of Cincinatti that turns the center of the cabin into a workspace. Also included is Spafax’s in-flight entertainment (IFE) analytics platform, Spafax IQ. At APEX TECH last month, Hali Hamilton, manager, Entertainment and Partnerships at Air Canada, which is a Spafax IQ customer, explained how the tool has changed the airline’s approach to IFE.
