Bringing something new to the 2027 slate in Singapore

For the first time in the inflight space, Xbox will be showcased by TSI featuring multimedia programming.

With more than 100 movies distributed each year, TSI works with the airlines to schedule its many releases so similar films do not compete within the same month. That gives individual titles more room to stand out while giving airlines access to different genres and types of programming.

“Well-known films and recognizable talent can drive broad passenger interest, while independent, international and more unexpected titles can add depth and discovery to an airlines’ offerings,” Steiner said. “Having both allows airlines to create a more interesting and well-rounded entertainment experience.”

Steiner wants attendees in Singapore to understand how that selection can support different airline needs. “Our strength is not just in the number of titles we represent, but in our ability to provide a diverse range of programming that can be tailored to the individual identity and passenger base of each airline,” she said.

Building Content Around Each Airline

TSI offers airlines access to the same overall slate depending on content rights, but the curation process changes from carrier to carrier. Steiner said the team looks at each airline’s programming needs and demographics when helping shape its entertainment lineup.

When TSI evaluates individual titles, the team looks at several factors, including the film’s appeal, genre, cast, marketability, cultural considerations, and overall feel. Those details help determine which titles make the most sense for a particular airline and audience.

Steiner said “blockbuster and tentpole films, romantic comedies, heartwarming dramas, and Academy Award winners have historically performed well. As in-flight entertainment (IFE) libraries gain greater capacity, familiar titles can attract broad interest, while independent and international films can give passengers something different to discover onboard.

Keeping New Releases at the Center

New releases remain central to TSI’s offerings even as passengers gain access to more streaming content and connectivity options.

“The newest releases will continue to be the highlight of the in-flight entertainment experience,” Steiner said. She explained that the inflight window typically comes 70 to 90 days after theatrical release, giving passengers the chance to watch recent films shortly after they leave theaters.

That timing helps airlines keep their content current. “Having access to these titles helps airlines keep their entertainment offerings fresh, relevant, and competitive, while enhancing the overall passenger experience,” Steiner explained.

“The focus will continue to be about giving passengers more seamless and personalized entertainment with streaming and connectivity being added to the mix,” Steiner said. TSI will bring that approach to Singapore as it presents its 2027 lineup.

Terry Steiner International will showcase its 2027 content lineup, including Xbox programming entering the IFE market for the first time, at booth 419 during APEX FTE EXPO.
