APEX FTE EXPO 2026: FutureFlite Brings One-Stop Digital Cabin Solution to Singapore

FutureFlite will head to APEX FTE EXPO in Singapore with a long-range economy seat that combines seating, in-flight entertainment (IFE), in-seat power, and USB charging. General Manager Derek Tang said the company wants to show airlines how bringing those products through one supplier can make cabin programs easier to manage. The company will use the show to highlight its approach to seating, electronics, certification, delivery, and long-term support.
Bringing Seating and Electronics Together
FutureFlite wants to reduce the number of suppliers airlines need to manage. Tang explained that working with separate seating, IFE, and power companies can require significant engineering, procurement, and financial resources, especially at smaller and mid-sized airlines.
“Our presentation, ‘Streamlining the Digital Cabin: Reducing Supply Chain Friction in Passenger Seating,’ explores how we can provide airlines with a one-stop digital cabin solution,” Tang noted. “We see a particular opportunity to give smaller and mid-sized airlines access to new-generation seats with fully integrated electronics through one supplier.”

FutureFlite handles integration, certification coordination, and delivery alongside the products themselves. That gives airlines one point of contact across more parts of the cabin program.
The company has worked in aircraft seating since 1987, building experience in design, testing, certification, and aircraft integration. It works directly with customers to shape each program around the aircraft, configuration, cost, and schedule.
Design priorities change depending on the type of seat. In economy, FutureFlite focuses on usable passenger space, low weight, and straightforward maintenance.
The Model 2020 family includes long-range, standard-recline, and non-reclining versions to meet different operating needs. Business and VIP products put more focus on individual comfort and adjustment, including mechanical lumbar support and an articulating seat bottom.
“The hardest tradeoff is deciding where weight adds value,” Tang noted. “Cushioning, support and adjustment contribute to comfort, while the structure and mechanisms must withstand repeated use.”
Rather than adding unnecessary complexity, FutureFlite looks at where added features make a difference. Mechanical adjustable lumbar support, as an example, lets passengers control their support without an electrically powered adjustment system.
The Model 5700 has been in service more than a decade. At approximately half the weight of prior-generation business class seats, it uses deeply contoured, three-dimensional back and bottom cushions to spread pressure more evenly and reduce concentrated pressure points.

According to Tang, the Model 5700 reinforced a simple lesson: comfort depends on how well the seat supports the body. That lesson continues to guide FutureFlite’s seat designs.
Letting Airlines Experience the Product in Singapore
Visitors in APEX FTE EXPO will be able to sit in FutureFlite’s latest seats and test the electronics firsthand, including a 13.3-inch IFE monitor, in-seat power, and USB charging. Tang wants attendees to notice the comfort, usable space, and how easily passengers can access those features.

FutureFlite will use the show to highlight its regional support network. The company keeps offices and spare parts stock across major regions, while its partner network covers China, the United States, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
“Fast delivery and dependable lifecycle support are essential parts of the offering,” Tang explained. “Airlines need confidence that replacement parts and technical assistance will be available when they need them, with support accessible locally.”
Keeping parts and technical assistance closer to customers helps FutureFlite respond more quickly when airlines need help. That support continues once the seats enter service.
FutureFlite will showcase its integrated seating and electronics, latest seat designs, and digital cabin approach at booth 807 during APEX FTE EXPO.
