LATAM Airlines Group (LATAM) is launching a premium economy cabin on its single-aisle Airbus aircraft, which operate national and international flights in Latin America. The product is similar to the Euro business class” offered by European carriers across the continent.

LATAM has introduced a premium economy cabin on board some of its Airbus A320 family fleet operating short- and medium-haul flights in Latin America. The service is set to extend to all 1,280 flights operated using A320 family aircraft by March 16, 2020.

The airline will now offer two cabin classes on these flights: premium economy and economy, but will continue to offer passengers flying in economy the option to select LATAM+ seats with more room and reserved overhead bins on most flights.

Today we are launching premium economy, one of the most radical changes in terms of travel experience in LATAMs history.”  – Paulo Miranda, LATAM Airlines Group

The premium economy cabin class offers passengers various perks, including priority check-in and boarding; baggage allowance from one to three pieces (up to 23 kg each) as well as priority baggage claim; VIP lounge access in airports where available on select international flights (Santiago, São Paulo/GRU, Lima, Bogotá, Miami and Buenos Aires); onboard service with complimentary snacks and beverages; and a blocked middle seat that offers passengers more space and privacy.

With the introduction of premium economy to its short- and mid-haul flights, LATAM will now offer a premium service across its entire network of 145 destinations in 26 countries and five continents. The carrier also offers a separate premium business class product on long-haul aircraft including the Boeing 787, 777, 767 and Airbus A350.

Our goal is to continue being the first choice for customers in Latin America, and today we are launching premium economy, one of the most radical changes in terms of travel experience in LATAMs history,” said Paulo Miranda, chief customer officer, LATAM Airlines Group in yesterday’s press release. “As part of our commitment to offering more options, flexibility and personalization to serve all journey types, the introduction of premium economy will provide the possibility to choose a superior service on all our flights.”
