Following Turkish Airlines’ move to Istanbul Airport in April, the country’s flag carrier has upgraded the experience it offers to travelers with its new business lounge. APEX Media contributor Piotr Bozyk recently spent a couple of hours in the lounge en route to Warsaw.

Turkish Airlines’ business lounge at Istanbul Airport can accommodate 765 people and is accessed via automatic gates that open after scanning an eligible boarding pass. It features 24 suites, 24 shower cabins, a movie hall, a library, a golf simulator, a museum and a special zone for children. There is also a business center, consisting of a shared workstation equipped with computers, as well as six meeting rooms where travelers can hold business meetings.

The lounge, which is expected to make a significant contribution to Turkish gastronomy, includes a special section for Turkish tea. Accompanied by a huge picture illustrating the process of tea collection, the specialized section is poised to introduce Turkish tea to the world. The children’s play area, which has a plane, slides and a popcorn station, is located at one end, so that the kids won’t disturb other travelers.
