APEX Insight: Air China chooses Recaro’s most popular aircraft seat, the award-winning CL3710 to fit 10 Airbus A350s. The order is one of the biggest announcements the German seating manufacturer has made at the Aircraft Interiors Expo so far.

Air China has ordered 2,500 units of Recaro’s CL3710 economy seat to fit 10 Airbus A350s. The announcement was made on the first day of the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany. The CL3710, known for its modular and adaptable design, is a best-seller from the Schwäbisch Hall-based seating manufacturer.

“With the CL3710, the airline has now selected the most advanced, most lightweight and most comfortable seat currently available on the market,” says René Lux, vice-president, Sales, Asia-Pacific at Recaro in a press release.

Air China’s selection of the CL3710 was attributed to the flag carrier’s desire to find a modern economy seating solution to match its A350s. As a longtime client of Recaro, Air China also flies with the BL3510 economy seat on its Airbus A320 and Boeing B737 aircraft. It has also deployed the CL6510 seat in the past.

Earlier this year, Recaro’s CL3710 seat was awarded with a gold German Design Award.
