Having received a record number of submissions this year, the shortlisted finalists for the 9th annual Crystal Cabin Awards faced an unprecedented level of competition.

Among the 21 finalists, Boeing, B/E Aerospace, TEAGUE and Panasonic Avionics are well-represented, with contributions to at least two entries each. Notable trends among the nominees include the continual prominence of device-based IFE, represented by nominees like Smart Tray’s table that includes a tablet holder and Lufthansa Systems’ BoardConnect in-seat tablet solution. On the VIP front, regional competitors Etihad and Qatar Airways – the only two airlines among the nominees – hedge their premium offerings against each other in the “Premium Class & VIP” category.

The awards presentation will be taking place on April 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Hotel Atlantic Kempinski. Stay tuned for more coverage of the winners and the ceremony. Congratulations to all nominees, and good luck!
