As Air Transat takes delivery of its first Airbus A321neoLR, we take you to Montreal for a chat with the APEX airline member’s VP of In-Flight Service and Customer Experience.
For the first episode of APEX Insider’s new on-the-road format, APEX Media director Maryann Simson heads to Canada’s Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. She catches up with Dave Bourdages, VP, In-Flight Service and Customer Experience at Air Transat, to find out how the delivery of the APEX airline member’s first Airbus A321neoLR on May 3, 2019, will enhance the passenger experience.
During the interview, Bourdages goes into detail regarding the new aircraft interior design being debuted on board the A321neoLR, which includes 12 deep blue leather seats in Air Transat’s “Club Class” and 187 light blue leather seats in economy class. He discusses how the in-flight entertainment featured in each class varies from route to route and provides information on the carrier’s future plans for in-flight connectivity.
The Canadian leisure carrier is set to lease a total of 15 Airbus A321neoLRs from AerCap by 2022 as part of its transition to an all-Airbus fleet, something which, as a pilot himself, Bourdages is keen to communicate the benefits of. The second Airbus A321neoLR is set to be delivered to Air Transat in June this year, followed by four more in fall 2019. The airline is first North American operator of the A321LR and will deploy the aircraft on its longer international routes connecting Canadian cities to destinations in Europe, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
