In this edition of APEX Insider, president and CEO of Air Canada Calin Rovinescu talks to Maryann Simson, director of APEX Media, about A220s, airports and the APEX CEO Lifetime Achievement Award.

At APEX EXPO 2018 in Boston, Calin Rovinescu said that winning the APEX CEO Lifetime Achievement Award wasn’t going to be an excuse for complacency, claiming, “I’m not prepared to throw in the towel and say that Air Canada doesn’t have more to achieve.”

Indeed, while Air Canada has been rebranded to reflect a more premium experience – which has seen the introduction of its Signature Class offering – Rovinescu is now rallying the industry to help improve the airport experience, which he calls “the weak link” in air travel.

Finally, Rovinescu explains how and why he thinks the Airbus A220 is going to do for Air Canada’s narrow-body fleet “what the 787 did for the wide-body” fleet.
