Attendees at APEX EXPO in LA next week can cool down over some ice cream at CarlisleIT’s booth while learning about the company’s electronically steered antenna adapter, which is optimized to prevent overheating. In-flight Wi-Fi access could depend on it!

Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT) is bringing its expertise in high-performance wire, cable, optical fiber and interconnect solutions to regional aircraft satellite communications (SATCOM) antenna installations.

Register for APEX EXPO (Los Angeles, September 9-12)

The low-drag shape of CIT’s ARINC 781 adapter plate and radome houses a customer-supplied electronically steered antenna (ESA), with the adapter’s design optimized to transfer the heat load from the antenna’s electronics to radiator zones. This cooling process is critical to the efficient operation of the installation and of the aircraft’s in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) system.

According to CIT, “the aerodynamic design allows for a simplified, standardized, and universal SATCOM installation, resulting in lower maintenance, reduced cost of ownership, and improved speed-to-market for customers.”

CIT will showcase the new ESA solution – which is also suitable for business aircraft – at Booth #1933 at APEX EXPO during the company’s “ice cream social” on Tuesday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 11 at 1:00 pm.

The new system leverages CIT’s expertise from its FlightGear„¢ Ka- and Ku-band Universal Installation ARINC 791 SATCOM installation for large jet aircraft.

Established almost 80 years ago, CIT was contracted to supply electrically heated gloves and flying suits for US Air Force pilots during World War II. After the war, the company began focusing on high-performance wire and interconnect technologies.

Now, more than seven decades later, at APEX EXPO the company will feature its latest aerospace wire and cables for high-speed data, custom constructions and harsh environments.

CIT will also display fiber optic harnesses, connection solutions, avionics trays, and its Octax 10GB Ethernet wiring connectors.
