On Friday 8 September, the Armani/Casa for Etihad Airways Inflight Range, created in collaboration with Buzz, was awarded a prestigious Good Design Award in recognition for outstanding design and innovation. This award comes as Buzz Products will be at APEX/IFSA Global EXPO, to showcase its range of passenger amenity products.
The Good Design Awards are administered by Good Design Australia. They honour design and innovation and reward diverse projects across 11 Design Disciplines covering more than 35 Categories and Subcategories. More than 900 entries were evaluated according to a strict set of design evaluation criteria which includes Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.
In awarding the program a prestigious Gold Award in the Product Design Category, the Awards Jury commented: “The Armani Casa for Etihad Airways Inflight range is reminiscent of the French Pillivyt range of crockery. The simple 1960s design of the serving plates, cups and glasses will remain timeless over many years. A cohesively functional yet refined style, it’s a really fantastic result with the limitations at hand.”
Unveiled in December 2022, the Etihad and Armani/Casa collaboration includes a new dining service featuring ceramics, glassware, cutlery and serving ware, as well as premium textiles for a luxurious inflight experience.
The colour palette of the range reflects the surroundings of Abu Dhabi; dark green inspired by the region’s date palm trees, aquamarine representing the beauty of the mangroves and slate to symbolise the modernity of the iconic Abu Dhabi skyline. The collection is also designed in line with the airline’s commitment to sustainability. Durable, high-quality material and innovative designs have reduced equipment weight by up to 10%, resulting in less fuel burn and fewer emissions.
In addition to receiving a Good Design Award, the Armani Casa range for Etihad was awarded the Travel Plus Airline Amenity Award for Best Business Class Bedding in June of this year.
Buzz Products at APEX/IFSA EXPO
Buzz Products will be at Booth No 856 during APEX/IFSA Global Expo, from September 19-21. Buzz Product’s Business Class Amenity kits created for Air Canada in collaboration with Acqua di Parma is a finalist in the IFSA (International Flight Services Association)/APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) awards.
