GOL Linhas Aéreas has appointed In-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) provider Anuvu as its new strategic partner to transform the airline’s in-flight entertainment (IFE) experience. Beginning January 2026, the collaboration introduces a refreshed and expanded content library designed to deliver a more seamless digital journey for passengers. The agreement places entertainment at the center of GOL’s next phase of customer experience innovation, combining global brands with stronger technical performance and reliability.

Elevating GOL Online with Premium Content

Under the agreement, Anuvu will deliver a comprehensive suite of content and technical services to support GOL’s next phase of in-flight entertainment. The collaboration centers on upgrading both the quality and reliability of the onboard experience, combining premium programming with streamlined operational delivery.

Passengers will gain access to a more extensive content library featuring television, films, and exclusive partnerships, including major global brands like Formula 1 and HBO Max. The addition of recognizable entertainment franchises strengthens GOL’s appeal to both domestic and international travelers.

Instead of just expanding the number of titles available, the partnership focuses on curating content that aligns with passenger preferences. Anuvu’s global content partnerships and licensing expertise allow GOL to introduce a catalog that blends international hits with regionally relevant programming. This reflects a bigger shift in the industry, where airlines now see entertainment as part of their brand instead of just an extra feature.

Anuvu EVP Media and Content, Estibaliz Asiain, emphasized the importance of the collaboration. “GOL has always been a true pioneer in aviation in Brazil and Latin America. We’re thrilled to support their next chapter by delivering a much-improved content library and more options for their customers to enjoy while onboard. Our teams have already collaborated on a flawless transition to Anuvu, executed with zero service interruption and immediate improvement in product quality and reliability.”

The transition also shows the operational side of the partnership. Anuvu worked closely with GOL to keep service running smoothly during the upgrade, so passengers experienced no disruption. While the change appears seamless onboard, GOL now benefits from improved workflows, updated licensing frameworks, and stronger technical support behind the scenes.

The updated entertainment program builds on GOL’s history of innovation. Since launching in 2001, the airline has focused on making air travel more accessible in Brazil, introducing tools like digital check-in to simplify the journey. As GOL celebrates its 25th anniversary, the airline sees in-flight entertainment as the next step in continuing to improve the customer experience.

Expanding Premium Brand Partnerships

The agreement with GOL reinforces Anuvu’s position as a major distributor focused on premium brand partnerships. The company continues to prioritize securing high-demand intellectual property for non-theatrical markets, recently expanding its global IFE portfolio with the addition of Pokémon content for airlines worldwide. That milestone highlights the scale of Anuvu’s distribution capabilities and its focus on bringing globally recognized franchises into the cabin.

Anuvu provides IFE services for airlines including Ethiopian Airlines, TUI Airways, Air Canada, Air Côte d’Ivoire, and Norse Atlantic Airways. In August, Platinum Equity signed a definitive agreement to acquire Anuvu, underscoring the growing strategic value of digital entertainment and connectivity as airlines invest more heavily in passenger experience platforms.

For GOL, working with a distributor that keeps adding major global brands helps strengthen the new GOL Online platform. Anuvu connects big studios and entertainment brands with airlines, giving carriers more than just a standard movie library. Adding franchises like Pokémon shows how airlines are leaning into recognizable content that passengers already love at home. By aligning with that approach, GOL builds an inflight lineup around familiar, high-quality brands that appeal to a wide range of travelers and elevate the onboard experience.
