Air India has launched Cloud Chasers, a new global program designed to create a more engaging travel experience for children and families across its network. The initiative brings together child-focused products and services into a single platform that combines onboard entertainment, activity kits, milestone moments, and family-friendly travel support.
Cloud Chasers Turns Flying Into an Adventure for Young Travelers
As family travel continues growing globally, airlines are placing greater emphasis on creating experiences designed specifically around younger passengers. Air India says family travel increased by 13 per cent between 2024 and 2025, reinforcing the need for more tailored experiences that support both children and parents throughout the journey.
In response, the carrier created Cloud Chasers, a platform that brings Air India’s child-focused experiences together under one identity. It introduces a re-imagined version of the airline’s iconic Maharaja character, transforming the traditional symbol into a younger and more playful travel companion for children.
Instead of appearing only as the airline’s classic mascot, the updated Maharaja becomes a travel guide featured throughout the Cloud Chasers experience. The character appears across activity kits, certificates, and other onboard touchpoints created specifically for younger travelers.

“With Cloud Chasers, we are reimagining what it means for families with kids to fly Air India,” said Air India Chief Customer Experience Officer Rajesh Dogra. “We have curated this program with careful attention to what our young travellers truly need and designed thoughtful experiences that will make their journeys with us more joyful and fun.”
One of the most noticeable parts of the program will be new activity kits available on long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights lasting more than eight hours. Children ages three to nine will receive colorful Cloud Chasers kits filled with games, puzzles, drawing activities, and interactive features designed to keep them engaged throughout the journey.
The airline has also updated its First Flight Certificate program for younger travelers. The redesigned certificates now feature Cloud Chasers branding along with personalized elements that create a memorable keepsake for children flying for the first time. Parents can request the certificates onboard, where they are signed by both the flight crew and captain.
Dogra said the launch represents only the beginning of a larger strategy: “This launch marks the first phase of a long-term vision, and travelers can expect more enhancements as we continue to elevate Air India’s family travel experience,” he said.
Entertainment Expands Beyond Traditional Kids Content
Cloud Chasers also introduces expanded digital entertainment options designed to provide younger passengers with more choices throughout the flight. Air India’s Vista in-flight entertainment (IFE) system now includes a Kids Zone featuring more than 130 hours of programming, while Vista Stream offers an additional 35 hours of child-focused content accessible through passengers’ personal devices.
The content library includes programming from partners such as Moonbug Entertainment and Red Bull TV, along with animated and educational content for children between the ages of three and 13.

The experience also includes interactive features beyond traditional video viewing. Children can access Kids Maps and games such as Angry Birds, UNO, Chess, and Ludo Race. The airline has also partnered with Vobble to offer educational audio stories as an alternative to screen-based entertainment.
The approach reflects broader changes across in-flight entertainment as airlines increasingly seek ways to balance traditional viewing content with more interactive and educational experiences.
Finally, the program goes beyond entertainment to include travel features aimed at making the journey easier for families. Families traveling with children will receive priority boarding across the airline’s network, while priority check-in support will be offered where possible. Parents traveling with infants can also request bassinets and infant meals on select domestic and international flights.
