Expliseat highlighted its next phase of growth at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2026, with a series of announcements focused on new airline partnerships and product expansion. The company secured new deals, including its first with a US carrier, while continuing to grow in the Asia-Pacific region and introducing a new premium seat concept.

Breaking Into the US Market While Expanding in Asia-Pacific

One of Expliseat’s biggest milestones at AIX 2026 is its entry into the US market, one of the most competitive in aviation. The TiSeat 2X will soon be introduced on regional aircraft for two US airlines, marking the company’s first customers in the region, though the carriers have not yet been disclosed. The agreements include a CRJ retrofit program and Expliseat’s first line-fit installation on Embraer E-Jets, as airlines in North America look to lower costs, improve fuel efficiency, and maintain a strong passenger experience.

Expliseat launched the TiSeat 2X in 2024, with Air France HOP! as the first customer. Built using titanium and carbon fiber, the seat is designed to reduce weight while maintaining durability for high-frequency operations. It also includes a PED holder and can be equipped with in-seat power depending on airline requirements.

This approach aligns with broader airline priorities. By reducing seat weight, carriers can lower fuel burn and improve aircraft economics without compromising reliability or comfort. That value proposition has helped Expliseat gain traction globally and now supports its expansion into the US.

At the same time, Expliseat is strengthening its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, securing new agreements that reflect growing demand for efficient and scalable cabin solutions, though the customer has not been disclosed. The deal focuses on the TiSeat 2V, rather than the 2X used in the US, with the 2V designed specifically for turboprop aircraft.

Airlines in the region are expanding rapidly and are looking for flexible solutions that can be deployed across different aircraft types while maintaining performance and consistency. This dual expansion across North America and Asia-Pacific reflects Expliseat’s broader goal to diversify its global customer base and scale across both established and high-growth markets.

TiSeat S Signals Expliseat’s Move Into Premium Regional Seating

Alongside its latest airline agreements, Expliseat introduced the TiSeat S at AIX 2026, marking its first move into regional business class. The seat is being developed for Embraer and Mitsubishi CRJ regional jets and reflects a growing focus on premium cabins as airlines look to deliver a more consistent experience across their networks.

The regional business class market has seen limited innovation over the past two decades, largely due to smaller volumes and tighter margins that have constrained investment. At the same time, passenger expectations have increased, with travelers expecting continuity between long-haul and regional flights. This has created a gap between airline ambitions and existing product offerings.

Expliseat is positioning the TiSeat S to address that gap. Built using lightweight materials such as titanium and carbon fiber, the seat is designed to reduce weight by up to 40 percent compared to traditional options. This supports improved fuel efficiency and lower operating costs while remaining compatible with the constraints of smaller aircraft.

The design also prioritizes passenger comfort. Features include integrated storage, power options, and a layout aligned with modern premium cabin expectations. The seat shares components and design language with Expliseat’s existing economy products, creating a more unified cabin experience while improving industrial efficiency.

This shared platform is central to the business case. By leveraging a component framework similar to the TiSeat 2X, Expliseat can rely on existing production processes, helping control costs and improve scalability. The seat is also designed with future upgrades in mind, including the option to integrate embedded entertainment screens.

Durability remains a key consideration, particularly for regional aircraft operating high-frequency routes. The TiSeat S is engineered to withstand increased wear while maintaining long-term performance, supporting airline requirements for reliability and lifecycle value.

The product is expected to achieve certification in 2027, with an initial focus on the US market. This reflects the large number of regional jets in North America, where airlines are increasingly investing in premium seating to differentiate their offering and attract higher-yield passengers.
