PXCom and InterLnkd have announced a strategic partnership to bring personalized inflight shopping to airlines through onboard Wi-Fi. The collaboration will allow PXCom to integrate InterLnkd’s AirMall retail and media platform into its SkyVerse inflight connectivity (IFC) portal, connecting passengers with a shopping network that included more than 20,000 brands as of September 2025, according to InterLnkd. The companies aim to help airlines generate additional revenue through shopping and advertising without carrying extra inventory onboard.

Bringing Personalized Shopping to the Connected Cabin

Passengers will be able to browse fashion, beauty, travel essentials, and other products through AirMall on their personal devices when airlines offer the platform through SkyVerse. Purchases can be delivered directly to their homes or travel destinations, removing the need for airlines to handle physical merchandise during flights.

The platform uses InterLnkd’s MotiVatedData matching engine to recommend products based on each passenger’s profile and destination. As of September 2025, InterLnkd’s network included more than 1,000 retail partners, offering products from a wide range of retailers. Airlines can earn commissions on passenger purchases and receive a share of revenue from paid product placements.

PXCom CEO Cyril Jean highlighted how the partnership combines the companies’ experience in inflight connectivity and travel retail. “We see strong potential in combining PXCom’s IFC portal expertise with InterLnkd’s Travel Retail capabilities,” he explained. “AirMall is a natural addition to our portfolio and will allow our airline customers to tap into incremental revenues within their connected cabin.”

The technology works with existing onboard Wi-Fi portals, allowing airlines to introduce shopping without developing their own retail systems. It also supports inflight payments and can connect with airline loyalty programs.

InterLnkd CEO and Co-founder Barry Klipp highlighted the opportunity as more airlines introduce free and faster onboard Wi-Fi. “Free and fast connectivity is rapidly expanding through the airline fleets, and the opportunity is to make it commercially valuable for airlines,” Klipp noted. “PXCom’s SkyVerse portal is an ideal partner for AirMall, and this collaboration gives airlines a faster, simpler route to monetising their connected cabin.”

Expanding Digital Services Beyond IFE

PXCom and InterLnkd also plan to explore additional opportunities involving personalized content, travel retail, and other digital passenger services.

PXCom develops solutions for seatback entertainment, wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE), and onboard connectivity. Its SkyVerse platform supports airlines looking to expand the digital services available during their flights.

“The connected cabin is evolving into a sophisticated digital ecosystem, and our role is to provide the technology that enables airlines to continuously enrich that environment,” Jean explained. “This collaboration with InterLnkd is another step towards a more intelligent, connected and dynamic IFC experience.”

InterLnkd also offers NEXORA, which covers retail, dining, transportation, events, eSIMs, and media, and TravelStylist, which connects travelers with shopping opportunities before their flights.

AirMall and TravelStylist can connect shopping before departure with the inflight experience. Airlines using both platforms can also integrate frequent flyer information to understand what passengers have viewed or purchased before departure.

Using this information, airlines can recommend other products that may interest passengers while avoiding items they have already purchased.

“Working with PXCom lets us bring AirMall to airlines through a partner they already trust for their inflight digital platforms,” Klipp added. “Together we can create a richer passenger experience while opening up new, sustainable revenue streams for airlines.”
