SCAT Airlines Selects Moment for Wireless IFE, Retail Upgrade

Kazakhstan-based low-cost carrier SCAT Airlines has partnered with Moment to introduce a fully customized wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) and onboard commerce platform across its Boeing fleet. The agreement marks a major step in SCAT’s digital modernization strategy while strengthening Moment’s expansion into the fast-growing Central Asian aviation market.
A New Digital Experience for a Growing Airline
Signed on March 4, 2026, the partnership comes as SCAT Airlines continues expanding across domestic and international markets. Based in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, it serves destinations throughout Central Asia, Europe, and Asia. In April alone, the carrier announced new routes from Shymkent to Novosibirsk and Tyumen in Russia; between Aktau in western Kazakhstan and Armenia’s capital Yerevan; and between Kazakhstan’s capital Astana and Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar.
“This agreement represents an important step in Moment’s international development and demonstrates our ability to support airlines’ digitalization strategies regardless of fleet size, aircraft type, or business model.”

It has also been disclosed that SCAT Airlines is behind a recent order for five Boeing 787 MAX 9 aircraft, which will further expand its longer-range single-aisle service, including more routes to Europe. The airline also converted five 737-8 jets from a previous order to the larger 737-9, meaning it is set to take delivery of ten of the type. SCAT Airlines was the first in Central Asia to fly the 737 MAX back in 2018 and currently operates nine 737-8 and five 737-9 jets.

As the airline grows, passenger expectations are also changing. Travelers increasingly expect digital entertainment, self-service tools, and smoother onboard experiences, even on shorter regional flights. To meet that demand, SCAT selected Moment’s Flymingo Box, which will modernize the cabin experience without adding major operational complexity.
The compact wireless server allows passengers to connect through their own phones, tablets, or laptops to access entertainment, information, and onboard services during the flight. Since the system is aircraft-powered, autonomous, and relatively easy to install, it can be rolled out quickly across existing aircraft without costly cabin modifications.
“This partnership is part of our broader commitment to continuously improve the onboard experience for our passengers while supporting the modernization of our fleet.”

“This partnership is part of our broader commitment to continuously improve the onboard experience for our passengers while supporting the modernization of our fleet,” said SCAT Airlines VP Vladimir Sytnik. “We were looking for a flexible and reliable solution that could be deployed efficiently across our aircraft, and Moment stood out as the right partner to meet these requirements.”
Entertainment, Commerce, and Growth Potential
Beyond entertainment, one of the most significant parts of the agreement is the integration of SCAT Airlines’ onboard point-of-sale system with the Flymingo Box to create a connected platform where passengers can browse products, place orders, and complete purchases directly from their own devices during the flight.
Instead of waiting for traditional cart service, travelers can order food, drinks, and other items more easily and at their own pace, while SCAT benefits from a smoother sales process and stronger onboard revenue opportunities.

Moment also serves as SCAT’s content service provider (CSP), supplying a regularly updated library of films, TV shows, music, and other digital options for an international passenger base. By bringing together the hardware, software, onboard sales tools, and content in one package, SCAT benefits from a complete solution instead of working with several different vendors.
“We are delighted to partner with SCAT Airlines, our first customer in Central Asia, and proud to support such a dynamic and expanding airline in a fast-growing market,” said Moment CEO and Co-founder Tanguy Morel. “This agreement represents an important step in Moment’s international development and demonstrates our ability to support airlines’ digitalization strategies regardless of fleet size, aircraft type, or business model.”
The SCAT Airlines agreement also comes as Moment continues expanding its wider connected cabin strategy. Earlier this month, the company announced a new Flymingo Box deployment with Garuda Indonesia and has also introduced an ISP-independent Wi-Fi portal that gives airlines more control over connectivity, branding, and onboard monetization.
Together, these moves show Moment is expanding beyond wireless entertainment and becoming a broader digital cabin partner focused on content, onboard sales, connectivity, and the overall passenger experience.
