Thai Airways has appointed Stellar Entertainment (Stellar) as its content service provider (CSP). The airline will be looked after by Stellar’s teams in Sydney, Singapore and Malaysia, who will ensure Thai Airways is meeting its business objectives. The carrier joins a roster of clients that recently expanded to include Rex and China Airlines.
From this month onward, Stellar will supply Thailand’s national carrier with a range of in-flight entertainment (IFE) services, including account management; strategic curation and licensing of all film, television and audio content; production services; technical services; and content delivery.
“To fulfil Thai’s vision to be a high-quality full service carrier with a strong Thai brand connecting Thailand to the world, we have chosen a highly experienced IFE partner who can deliver on every level,” said Kittiphong Sansomboon, executive director, Customer and Marketing at Thai Airways. “From up-to-date releases of content to innovative content strategies, such as helping us introduce the idea of pairing music with our in-flight food and beverage experience, and agile technical expertise; we are confident that Stellar can help THAI deliver our promise to the world through our new IFE experience.”
Stellar Entertainment’s managing director, Sam Allen, said, “As a leading CSP in Asia-Pacific, we feel privileged to work with another prestigious flag carrier in this region, one that is renowned for world-class in-flight products and services. Airlines seek stable and flexible partners with reliable expertise during these current fluid times, and Stellar Entertainment meets those requirements, backed by almost five decades in the industry.”
The news comes as Thailand reopened its borders to fully vaccinated travelers without the need to quarantine on February 1.
Elsewhere, the carrier recently teamed up with Priority Pass to give Priority Pass members two and a half hours of free access to its domestic Royal orchid lounges at Phuket International, Chiang Mai International and Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airports.
